Good choice for traditional math practice, but the Homework Workbook is better

I picked up this Practice Masters/Workbook as well as the Homework Workbook last year to supplement my child's SFAW 5th grade math instruction. Because it is newer than the text they used, I didn't worry too much about whether the lessons matched up and so can't comment on that, but I found it helpful in providing extra problem solving practice for my child especially since it seems to cover the common core standard subjects for math in Washington State. What this book lacks, however, that the other has is the review of the algorithms and/or problem solving strategies. Because some problems are included in both books, I would recommend the Homework Workbook: Reteaching, Practice (which is also longer) over this one. In summary, I can't vouch for how well it corresponds to the textbook (the bottom of each page shows the lesson that it corresponds to), but for parents wanting a supplement for students who need extra problem solving practice, choose the SFAW Homework Workbook over this (the Practice Masters/Workbook).

This is the book being used at my kids school for Fifth grade.
The problems and methods are very descriptive and mi kid reads this book like a story book and starts answering questions at the end of each topic.
I would recommend this even for general training for kids in 5th grade.
